FAQ

Q:  How can I see competitor lists and competition results?
A: Competitor lists are located here: www.naucc.com/en/results. Once the competition is completed and the data verified, results will also be posted at this link.

Q:  How will changes or announcements be made during NAUCC?
A: We will email everyone who provided their email address during registration.

Q:  What is the policy regarding bad weather or air quality?
A: Lightning/Threatening Weather -- Competitions will be paused if lightning or thunder is observed. Competition will resume 30 minutes after the last flash of lightning or sound of thunder.  Air Quality -- Minnesota has experienced poor air quality this summer due to the Canadian forest fires. We will cancel competitions when the Air Quality Index is greater than 200.

Q:  What's new for NAUCC 2023?
A: We're really excited about NAUCC 2023! In addition to the events you already know and love (Muni, Track, Road Racing, Team Sports, and Trials), we have placed a special emphasis on introducing newer riders to Flatland and Street, and have made important changes to the Freestyle categories.

Our Urban Workshops are designed for riders with little or no experience in Flatland and Street. Join us for the Beginner Flatland Workshop (Sunday), the Flatland Levels Clinic (Monday), Open Flatland Coaching (Tuesday), and the Learn How to Pedal Grind Workshop (Saturday). Plus, the "Briefing" workshops immediately before the Flatland and Street competitions will teach you how the events are run and judged. So whether you've never competed in Flatland or Street before, or you've competed but would love some coaching, this is your year!

Q:  What's new in Freestyle?
A: To make the Freestyle events the best they can be for competitors, NAUCC 2023 will use "Age Group" and "Expert" categories for both the Individual and Pairs competitions (replacing the previous Novice, Intermediate, and Expert skill-based categories). Unicon and other championships already use Age Groups, so this change brings NAUCC in line with other large championships. The USA Rulebook allows NAUCC hosts the discretion to make this type of change, and we feel that aligning the competition categories to those used at Unicon will help riders better prepare for the July 2024 international competition to be held in Bemidji, Minnesota. Further, the Age Group categories better align with other competitions, such as Track and Muni.

For NAUCC 2023, the Freestyle categories are 0-14, 15+, and Expert. (Please note that the minimum number of age groups is two: 0-14 and 15+.  Depending on the number of registered competitors, there may be more age groups.). Riders choose either their age group, which is based on their age at the start of NAUCC, or they may opt-in to the Expert competition. This choice is made during online NAUCC registration.

Q:  What's new in the Trials competition?
A: The USA Board has approved a change in the safety gear required to participate in the NAUCC Trials competition. In addition to shoes and a helmet, competitors are now required to wear gloves and knee pads. Shin guards are highly recommended, but are not required.

Q:  Where should I park at Kennedy High School?
A: Many events will take place at Kennedy High School in Bloomington -- 9701 Nicollet Ave. Please note that the parking lots are accessed from W. 98th St. (Old Shakopee Rd.).

Q:  Will rate-negotiated hotels be available?
A: Due to the smaller number of participants looking for hotel rooms, NAUCC is not negotiating rates with local hotels. However, if you would like assistance arranging rooms for a group, please contact us via the "Contact" page and we will put you in touch with a local Convention and Visitors Bureau who can help in the process. For hotel options in Burnsville, visit Stay - Burnsville Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Q:  Are there any campgrounds close to the events?
A: Yes! Lebanon Hills Regional Park will be the site of NAUCC 2023's Muni events. Information on their campground can be found here: https://www.co.dakota.mn.us/parks/parksTrails/LebanonHills/Pages/lebanon-hills-campground.aspx

Q:  Will late (onsite) registration be available?
A: Yes, registration will be available onsite at a non-discounted rate ($200 per competitor). However, no late Freestyle registration will be available. Freestyle registration must be done online, and it must be completed by July 1, 2023.

We strongly urge all competitors to register as accurately as possible online (at the discounted rate) no later than July 1, 2023. Changes can be made during NAUCC, but the start of events is often delayed by changes in registration. Please do your best to register for all events you are interested in participating in, and removing any events you don't intend to participate in. Thank you in advance!

Q:  What are the age groups for each event?
A: The age groups for each event can be viewed below.
